The Credible Morphing Chameleon Thread

As suggested by Kagcomix. The topic will change when it becomes apparent no one has anything more to add to the conversation.

  1. YEAH. Thanks, Piggy.

The ‘possibly related posts’ thingy is generating something about Twitter, so what about that as a topic?

  2. By golly, that’s the very best topic suggestion I’ve ever heard for a Credible Morphing Chameleon Thread in the history of PTR!

So, Twitter. I have an account, but I don’t, what do you call it? Tweet? I just follow a few other people, but rarely check. I don’t understand the full usefulness of Twitter. People keep kept saying how useful it was for getting information out of Iran, but couldn’t, say, 200 characters give more information than 140? And, of course, punctuation, spelling, and grammar are persecuted because of it. So I guess overall I’d give it a more negative review than positive.

  3. I’ve thought about getting a Twitter, but in the end, it just seems like Facebook without the apps. Plus, I can’t get it on my new phone, so I wouldn’t be able to use it much. I might give it a try though, if it’s worthwhile and more people I know begin to Tweet.

  4. I don’t understand the point of Twitter, at least for the purpose it was designed, at all. Why do you need to let people know what you’re doing every ten minutes? Not that I read people’s Twitter pages often, mind you, so I suppose I could be wrong.

  5. Yes, I don’t really understand Twitter. I feel like it’s kind of unecessairy. I always feel like people are making jugements about me because of my facebook status. *chuckle* It’s sort of silly. So now I think hard before I change my status, especially because I have a couple of adults as “friends” (I don’t want them thinking “Ah man, it’s that ridiculous Kagcomix changing her freaking status again). Oh teh 1NT3RN37, What you do to me!

  6. That is not the smiley face I wanted. I wanted the *rolls eyes*.

  7. oh, there is none. grrr…

  8. Yay! I chose the topic. *beams*

I have a Twitter account, but it pretty much died after I realized nobody I knew was on it.

I thought I would like it, because I like making Facebook statuses sound witty (and then fail), but it’s not as fun because nobody I know is on it. :(

  9. Um… either this topic is dead or you all are extremely busy this summer. Suggestions for a new topic?

  10. I just didn’t want to double post.

  11. Hmm. New topic… what about….

Oh darn, I can’t think of anything. Oh well.

  12. I agree with Tesseract–I really don’t understand Twitter at all. I mean, what’s the point? Admittedly, I’ve really not read any Twitter “tweets”, so I can’t really say that they don’t say anything intelligent, I just get the feeling they’re basically along the lines of:

    I’m eating chips right now.
    I’m watching tv.

And on and on and on. Like that irritating Verizon wireless commercial: “I’m. sitting. on. the. patio.”

    I don’t know–I mean, I’m also the girl without a facebook/myspace/other social networking thing.

  13. Luna! *pies extravagantly*

  14. Pie! Yum! *eats pie*

    *returns fire*

  15. Luna- I don’t have any social networking things beyond IM and Gmail, so I know what you mean.

  16. I agree w/RQ. What’s the point anyway?

  17. It’s just a place to share thoughts, complaints, or ideas in an immediate manner. It’s also a soap opera of sorts, though less melodramatic. I follow a bunch of web comic artists, and it’s just interesting to see how various things unfold. I think you really have to have tried it for a while before you realize what the attraction to people is.

  18. Ok, that kinda maybe makes sense…

  19. I am now officially stalking RoCoo and LadyB via Twitter. I decided to leave Rosanne alone (for now). And of course Master Baker is too busy for Twitter.

  20. Of course, Robert has never actually tweeted or twittered or whatever they call it. But I’m “following” him nonetheless.

  21. They’re on twitter? I didn’t realize that. I did know that RoCoo has an FB (and I think Rosanne, too, or maybe it was LadyB, I forgets……), but I did not no about the twitter accounts…..Hmmm, *stalks*

  22. All the GAPAs save the elusive Paul have Facebooks. But none of them friend MBers.

  23. I take it you tried? I rather figured they wouldn’t, all things considered.

  24. Nah, there was an announcement on MB many moons ago. I haven’t tried.

  25. Oh. I must not’ve been around (or seen the notice) or something.

  26. http://www.musefanpage.com/blog/?p=1178

  27. Thanks, but I found it already…..

Of course, technically it only says they won’t friend anyone who’s not an adult. Thus, say, adult MBers on FB could still (possibly) be accepted as friends…..

  28. But you haven’t even turned two yet, Luna, so they wouldn’t friend you.

  29. True. What makes you think I was referring to myself? I merely said adult MBers could, possibly. Never said I myself was an adult MBer. Since, afterall, as you say, I’m not yet two.

  30. Twitter…..I feel like a hypocrite, as I’ve gone and got one. Mind you, I haven’t used it, other than to follow a couple people, I only got it to follow JKR, but of course she doesn’t really actually use hers, she just got it to stop the impersonators…..Yeah. Hypocrite. I’m a hypocrite. :???:
