  1. Well, most of these you all probably know already……All two of them.

JKR’s official website: jkrowling dot com, I believe
Potter Puppet Pals (c’mon, who doesn’t like PPP? ), potterpuppetpals dot com

Or you can all just friend me on YouTube…..I have a horrible video of myself singing the element song, that I really should just delete…It sucks (not the song itself, but my singing it, and the video as well)

  2. Has JKR updated her site? Last time I visited it maybe half a year or more ago, I’d read everything on the site.

  3. Incredible, homework-doing website: www93 dot wolframalpha dot com

  4. Tesseract–No, I don’t think it’s been updated since then. You can go back and do all the WOMBATs, since the Room of Requirements has the little time-turner thingy. Not sure when that was added, but I think it was more than six months ago. *shrug* I do wish it would be updated…..

  5. Another “good” site is IMDb, it’s a database of movies and TV shows. The TV shows are complete with episode guides and dates aired. It’s got lots of fun/useful information, and also has discussion boards for all the movies/shows/actors. Unfortunately, you have to provide them with some sort of verification to post, such as credit card number. However, they are affiliate with Amazon, so if you have ever purchased anything through Amazon, you can use that to verify (as I did–I purchased my collector’s edition of Beedle the Bard off Amazon–er, wait, duh, you couldn’t get it elsewhere  ). On some of the more recent shows/episodes, it has links to Hulu videos, as well. And you can find me on some of the message boards.

    imdb dot com

  6. Are we allowed to post direct links here? I’ll put them in de-linkified form just in case.

So I’m taking it upon myself to move the XKCD discussion over here- Go visit XKCD dot com. The best, nerdiest, muserly comics ever. I do admit though, some of the technical equations befuddle me. College-level math, I’m guessing.

My personal favorite: xkcd DOT com/79/

Hey, if you like PPP, you’ll probably like some of Neil Cicierega’s other videos (Older ones at his youtube channel, more recent ones found here: hollywoodeasttv DOT com/profile/NeilCicierega )
    He’s a funny guy.

Best food blog: smittenkitchen DOT com
I don’t do much cooking myself, but that doesn’t stop me from going and drooling over those incredible pictures of everything in our world that is scrumptious.

    thisiswhyyourefat DOT com
Warning: This is really gross. Repulsive, horrendous, terrible and horrifying. But it’s simultaneously fascinating and amusing.

Gosh, I have so many more. I’m an internet junkie. But that’s all for now, I’ve got to curb myself.

  7. Endless hours of hilarity: FailBlog dot org. I came across something just now. I’m going to have to get a new microwave; mine doesn’t have this setting.

  8. Raynpho–You know what’s sad? None of that looks particularly appetizing, and yet…..It made me hungry. I’m up through page 5, I think (deep fried banana split). The only dishes that might be okay, are the actual desert ones (ie, choco taco–not bacon chocolate cake. *shudder*)

Piggy– Some of those pics are pretty funny….Mainly the “mature” humor ones. What can I say. I’m 19.

  9. One of my favorite blogs is chocolatehammer dot org. It’s a blog filled with pictures, short stories, world creation, character creations, and long-form stories. My favorite thing on the blog is the story “Vatsy and Bruno,” which is about a mutated feline journalist and his chimpanzee bodyguard. Here’s a link to their first tale, called “First Ink”: chocolatehammer dot org/?page_id=551

  10. Luna- My personal favorite nightmare: The Meat Cake.

Haha, Failblog is the best. Have you seen their mother site, Icanhascheezburger DOT com? The best use of internetz chatspeak catspeak ever.

For all of the double-X chromosomes: google Sarah Haskins, the first result should work (her link’s to complicated to de-link here)
She’s got some hilarious videos on stereotypes of the female world. I don’t know how anyone of the male gender would like it, but you can go try it and see how you like her sense of humor :D

Emmyc DOT com! Emmy Cicierega’s blog (sister of Neil Cicierega). She’s a great artist, and she’s funny. Go checkit out.

  11. An interesting site: asdfjklsemicolon dot com. You just write an anonymous message to the website’s owner. He has no way to respond. If you like talking to someone you will never know, who will never know you, it’s a good site. Rather thought-provoking. He also made what he describes as a two-person version: TwoCansAndString dot com. You just sign up, then you anonymously ask questions and anyone else that has signed up can answer them. You can, of course, answer other people’s questions, all completely anonymously. I’m on there somewhat often, usually making fun of people’s grammar and spelling.

  12. darkroastedblend dot com has a very interesting assortment of links.

  13. cakewrecks dot blogspot dot com

  14. On a different computer, so this post’ll have to be moderated manually, I suppose (sorry Piggy), but YES. Cakewrecks = YES.

    Carrot Jockeys FTW.

  15. SFTDP. Huh, I guess I have posted on this computer before. I wish I had a link to make this post useful, but all my handy bookmarks are on the other computer. :|

  16. I don’t know if it’s email-based or IP address-based, so it’s possible that you haven’t posted on that computer before. *checks* No, those are the only two posts with that IP address. Must be email-based.

  17. This is actually a freeware: if you go to http: //hotspotshield. com/, you can download HotSpotShield, which basically assigns you a new VPN IP address over their server. I find it very useful to get around “this video is not available in your country” messages on YouTube and to cheat on various other sites that read IP addresses. And it helps my paranoia.

  18. impishidea DOT com

For everybody who dislikes Twilight/Eragon/poor writing in general.

  19. I will suggest most some of the webcomics I read.

sorcery101.net – it’s a fictional alternate universe with majic and werewolves, but really well done and believable and not elves in skimpy costumes.

drmcninja.com – so funny. It is about a ninja who is a doctor.

outathome.com – this man makes me laugh so hard.

katebeaton.com – yay for canadian history.

scarygoround.com – It’s about a smallo town in england where supernatural stuff happens. The art is super beautiful.

and much, much more. I read xkcd, but someone already mentioned it.

  20. http: //dan-ball. jp/en/javagame/dust/ — Marvelous, fantastic, addictive game of sorts. Now with extra Engrish!

  21. Dr. Mcninja + Kate Beaton = winnage

    More webcomics? I think so:

daisyowl DOT com – Ahah… Hahaha.

    kiwisbybeat DOT com/minus – Ahh~~~ So cute

  22. Kokopelli.com
    no more to say.

  23. YourWorldOfText dot com. It’s very interesting.

  24. It’ll all probably be gone in a few hours, but I made the Happy Box, the Sad Box, and the Neutral Box, and I Rickrolled everyone, and I had a conversation as Beelzebub. You might be able to see it all if you go there soon. But it’ll probably be gone in a little while.

  25. Ha, now I did the Kanye West thing to the Rickrolling.

And why am I posting this?

  26. Awww… Happy Box go bye-bye.

  27. that yourwoldoftext thing is interesting indeed.

  28. *whispers:* ((I started a private one for us. YourWorldOfText dot com slash piggystearoom.))

  29. It’s pretty cool.

  30. It’s awesome. *has been writing on it for a while* Doodle, doodle, doodle, doodle…

  31. Geez, Luna. Me, Armada, and Avalon all know what you’re up to. So just surrender.

  32. And the “Tom Riddle” “Ginerva Weasley” etc really gave it away.

  33. Wait, what? I swear on my entire collection of everything Harry Potter I did not post anything about Tom Riddle or Ginevra Weasley. And I do not take an oath on may HP stuff lightly.

*is off to find out who is impersonating me*

  34. Gah. I found y’all, and for chrissakes whoever the hell it is, it’s NOT ME.

  35. Why can I only see what I wrote there and nothing from anyone else?

  36. SFTPD:
I didn’t write anything about Harry Potter (yet). But the “doodle, doodle, doodle…”, “XD”, e.t.c, e.t.c. was me.

  37. @Bookgirl: Where are you seeing only what you wrote?

  38. I wish I knew!

  39. No, not WHY, WHERE?! Ummm….. whatevar.

  40. Bookgirl_me, you’re positive you have the URL right, right?

  41. Right, right, right…… *has headache*

  42. Okay, I found it now. *entered http: //YourWorldOfText. com/piggystearoom instead* That’s the one I wrote on. Sorry fireh. My brain has been on vacation in Majorca for a while. I’ll let you know when it comes back.

  43. Er, now I”m confused. That’s the website that we’ve all been posting on. Well, in addition to another one that was posted by fireh on the PTR text world…..

  44. Oh, dear. *snork* SFTDP, but…..Your post. “On vacation in Majorca.” Sorry, luv, instant transport to Chapter 2, “Vanishing Glass”, HP&PS…….I’ll just shut up now.

  45. I just noticed that as well. It’s wasn’t on purpose. I don’t know. Now that link redirects to where you’ve all been posting… Never mind.

  46. I visited the World of Text page. It’s so full it crashed my server. :D

  47. Impressive.

  48. It freezes up all the time on my end, but has since day one…..It’s a pain, really, I try “scrolling” too fast, and it freezes and I can’t do anything in that browser until it sorts itself out.

  49. I know. It was quite enjoyable. I also thought it was a sign that at 12 at night it was time to go to bed, so i did.

    What?

    Computers are addicting. >.>

  50. Well, it works best in Chrome, which it was sorta designed for. It only freezes up once in a while, but it fixes itself after a page refresh. No worries.

  51. Phew. Well, now I can spam without concern! Muchas gracias, mi amigo cerdo.

Yup, it’s that time of the year again. Spanish homework.

  52. Oh, and just kidding about the spam thing. Or am I?

    No, seriously, I am. xD

  53. I don’t even understand the spam thing, much less worry about it.

    What Spanish are you in?

  54. Well, when it freezes in Safari/Firefox, I can’t click refresh, because until it unfreezes (less than 30 seconds, typically, but I’m very, very impatient), my mouse is just a spinning circle of rainbow colors as long as it is hovered over that application. It reverts to a useable mouse on any other app, as they are unaffected, but…..You get the idea. Trying to hit refresh in a brief unfrozen moment amidst the frozen spasm just makes it take longer to sort out.

  55. Ha! *obviously has a better browser*

  56. *and type of computer*

  57. Oh, you little monster. My computer is just fine, thank you very much.

  58. surfthechannel dot com

You can find pretty much every TV show ever there, with zillions of links. ’tis quite nice, I use it all the time for all my TV watching needs, if they’re either back episodes, or the official sites don’t put ‘em up in a timely manner…..
